Its summer, Real Ibiza is back and we are onto our tenth volume.

News image

Its summer, Real Ibiza is back and we are onto our tenth volume. It may have taken us 19 years to get this far but all things come to those who wait. As usual the musical scope is pure Balearic but the producers at work come from all points around the world.

We open our summer salvo of blissful melodies with a trio of big name musicians; Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green joins with chill-out lord Chris Coco for their version of the Albatross classic. Electronic wizards The Orb float on by with their beatless remix. Next we are off to Australia where Gary B smoothly sets the tempo with his haunting vocal and cavernous, laid back grooves.

Netherlands based Symbols Of Sound are next with their Balearic smooth jazz of "Look At The Stars". Aimes from West Coast US is next with plucky, smokebelch-like Grooving In Guatemala. Italian Balearic legend Danielle Baldelli pairs with DJ Rocca for their melodic seaside soundscape that is "Poouli". Next two Russian producers; First, Sad Radio On Cassini lifts us and carries us away with his sweet and deep synth layers before Cardmoth strips it back for a note by note melody on a solo acoustic guitar.

Ibiza get's Real again for volume 9

News image

Following on from the 2015 return to the frey Real Ibiza returns to the white isle for the 2016 edition of the benchmark Balearic compilation "Real Ibiza Volume 9". First launched in 2000 Real Ibiza was one of the first wave of Ibiza / Balearic inspired compilations. A cornerstone of the genre alongside the Café Del Mar series. Real Ibiza gets inside the Balearic bloodstream by mixing in downtempo sensibilities, mellow house, cool jazz and plentiful doses of evening sun-washed grooves. For episode 9 Bahamian DJ Loudery returns to sample the delight and mood of Balearic music worldwide.

As is the formula for Real Ibiza the zeitgeist is all Ibiza whereas the particpants int the music hail from locations all over the word. First up we head to Prague to sample the 30 piece string section of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra with Czech producer Sonority setting a mellow introducing tone with the cinematic "Virtus". Its then a trip to the other side of the world for Australian producer Gary B to set things on a dreamy plateau with his bass guitar driven "Better Life". Next it is some unabashed sunshine groove with the lazy trumpet, sunshine piano and "boys of summer" guitar with "Isla Paradisco" from Steven Solveig.

Back in the days when weekends began on Thursdays and 6am was not a late finish in clubland, accelerating track tempos fueled widespread decadent partying. Sundance get's a make over

News image

Back in 1997 Mark Shimmon & Nick Woolfson got together to form the Sundance project, the result of their labours was the ever so brilliant "Sundance" track. Not just any house / proto-trance / big room sound... but one that encapsulated the sounds of the time and made it to the top 20 in the UK main chart. Big riffs, an instantly recognizable break down and the big stabby bass sound. The track went on to be licenced all over the world with a slew of labels and a bucketful of remixes.

Fast forward to 2015 and to celebrate the upcoming release of a "Best Of Reactivate" here at React we thought it most appropaite to re-visit one of our classics with some remixes. So for our 256th release (yes that’s a lot for sure) here are the remixes...

Candi Staton releases again on React

News image

After a (errr) short break of 9 years or so, the React banner is thrust once more into the frey. For our mini re-launch we are starting off with one of our biggest ever tracks. Candi Staton's seminal Soul gospel track 'Whadda You Want' gets the remix treatment from a handful of disco stalwarts for a release on React this Autumn.

First up we have James Bright, a remix powerhouse who's edits for Nang et. al. have been wowing dancefloors for the last few years. His woozy nu-disco rendition is sublime. Tokyo-based English ex. pat Max Essa up's the Sleaze with his Tropical, bubbling remix whilst K-Klass delivers a shiny and euphoric groover.

To finish the package we've got Motif on the buttons. Their chilled half-time version is the perfect wind down.

React Is Back On The Block

React

After a not so short break of 9 years we are pleased to announce that React is back. Yup here we are all these years later releasing music again. We will soon be announcing our first release and stay tuned for new signings and remixes of our (if we say so ourselves) back catalog of dance classics. We've re-comissioned our classic Octogon / Circle logo and of course the name is still the same REACT. James Horrocks is still at the controls too.
